Module 4 Chapter 9 - Stitchery into Paper

Sample 1.
The crisscross pattern, made by the embedded threads in the paper, reminded me of Chinese characters. I tried to interpret the characters with straight hand stitches, formed in vertical rows. The paper is stitched to a dyed muslin background.
