Module 4 Chapter 8 - Grids Embedded in Paper

Sample 15 -
A grid was made in clear plastic vinyl, with a hole punch. Threads were taken across the grid and poked down the holes - leaving long tails. The vinyl was placed in a frame and dipped into the paper pulp, which covered the top threads as well as the hanging ones. The frame was put between bricks, while the pulp dried and stiffened over the threads. This may not be a very practical piece, but it was fun to try. If the strands were thicker and stronger it could make a letter rack!

Photo 2 - vinyl upside down.
Photo 3 - vinyl held vertically.
